About us
Who we are
Fight for Peace is an international non- governmental organisation (NGO) that supports young people to achieve their full potential and helps create peaceful communities. The organisation was founded in Rio de Janeiro, in 2000, and set up in London in 2007.
We believe the choices young people make are based on the opportunities and support they have access to, as well as the way they see themselves, how they relate to others, and how they see their future. That’s why Fight for Peace invests in young people, offering integrated and holistic programmes in a safe environment.
Strategically we focus on three main activities: firstly, we provide direct services to young people through our Academies in London and Rio; secondly, we support youth-focused partner organisations who are members of the Fight for Peace Alliance; and thirdly, through our Collectives - currently in Newham and Jamaica - we work with local partners, government bodies, donors and the private sector, to generate greater impact in preventing violence in communities
