Family Counselling Trust (FCT)

Who we are

The Family Counselling Trust (FCT) is a registered mental health charity providing early intervention and accessible psychological support to children, young people and their families who are predominantly on low incomes. It was founded in 2005 to respond to the growing challenges that young people and their families face where they were unable to access the support needed.  We work hard to enable young people, who would otherwise not receive a service, to have an opportunity to be supported by an experienced psychological therapist, in what is a holistic service involving the families.  Importantly, we support young people and families with whose needs may fall below the threshold for  statutory services and we give consideration to the individual families' financial circumstances.

We operate across Dorset, Hampshire, Somerset and Wiltshire and with funding we provide quality psychological support to low income families through a referral system with GPs, Schools etc and also from families themselves.
