About us
Who we are
The Epsom and Ewell Talking Newspaper is run entirely by volunteers. We produce fortnightly recordings of local news, magazine articles and podcasts from our studio in Epsom which are sent out to subscribers by the Royal Mail free of charge.
Our culture and values
We provide a recorded service for the local blind and partially sighted population and to those who find it difficult to read print. The recordings are posted out on memory sticks in reusable plastic pouches which can be played on 'boom boxes' and then returned for the next recording. Our volunteers, who operate on a rota, include: news and magazine editors, who collate the articles; readers, whose voices are recorded on the memory sticks; sound recordists who make the recordings happen, and; office staff who turn the pouches around.
Equality, diversity and inclusion policy
We welcome all to apply for our volunteering positions.
