Who we are

Our vision is to create a safe and sustainable “home” environment for unaccompanied asylum-seeking minors where the basic needs for regenerative sleep, balanced nutrition, and support are met within a stable, wholesome and responsive community committed to reciprocal learning.

Our aim is to enable and empower each young person by building on their resilience and the reconciliation of their trauma whilst facilitating and inspiring their invaluable integration and contribution to their local communities and UK society as a whole.

Our mission is to offer hope, guidance and positive challenges through a variety of creative and technical workshops, sports, cross-cultural and language classes and therapies to suit all needs and interests to best prepare for an independent and self-reliant future.

We encourage relationship building and the bridging of cultural barriers, participation in academic and vocational opportunities and contribution to the sustainability of the center, by engaging in local community initiatives and support the acquisition of valuable life skills and enterprise.

We offer a comprehensive legal network to support an individual’s asylum claim and ensure that each young person’s best interest and choices for their future will be upheld and protected.

We are creating a model that can be replicated in communities across the UK in collaboration with local authorities, social services, established charity organisations and community groups.

Introduction to Enthum House

Enthum House is the Enthum Foundation’s flagship specialist 16+ semi-independent service in East Sussex, offering a unique combination of much-needed supported accommodation, therapeutic, vocational and legal services and community integration to unaccompanied asylum-seeking children (UASC) aged 16-18. We have worked with local authorities and commissioning partnerships to develop a service that supports them to meet their corporate parental obligations and to offer first class services for unaccompanied asylum-seeking children as Looked After Children (LAC) under section 20 Children Act 1989:

Enthum House is available for up to seven 16 -18 year olds and is staffed 24 hours a day with staff awake and on duty at night. 

Tailored therapeutic support- Enthum House offers bespoke support packages to unaccompanied asylum-seeking children experiencing complex mental health needs, in partnership with the placing authority’s social worker, social and healthcare professionals and our own qualified therapeutic support staff.
