About us
Who we are
We are many things to many people - a place of worship, prayer and reflection, a tourist attraction, a place of work, an events space, an exhibition space. We employ around 150 staff and around 400 volunteers assist us with the upkeep of our magnificent Cathedral, the mother church of our Diocese, and a site of Christian worship since 673 AD.
Our culture and values
We aim to provide a welcoming and inclusive space for all who worship or visit us, and we aim to enrich the lives of our local community and the visitors who come through our doors every day.
As a workplace, we want all our staff and volunteers to feel welcomed, valued and appreciated and aim to provide the tools and knowledge to ensure they feel fulfilled in their roles.
Equality, diversity and inclusion policy
Ely Cathedral is committed to equality of opportunity and to an inclusive approach to equality, which supports and encourages under-represented groups, promotes an inclusive culture, and values diversity.
We believe that diversity strengthens and enriches us, and are committed to Ely Cathedral playing our part in making the Church of England more diverse and more equal. We aim to diversify our staff and we promote equality for all.
We welcome applications from all backgrounds and from people with disabilities and we select candidates for interview based on their skills, qualifications, experience and commitment to our values and purposes.
