About us
Who we are
Our mission is to make a difference to the lives of heart children and their families.
At ECHO, we know that discovering your child has a potentially life threatening heart condition is one of the hardest things any parent can hear. Many families find it difficult to cope and welcome additional support, which is why ECHO exists.
We provide support to:
- Children and young people with heart conditions from birth to adulthood
- Parents & Carers whose children are diagnosed with a heart condition either prenatally or during childhood, throughout their child’s life and at times when they need us most
- Siblings of those affected with CHD from birth to adulthood living with a heart child
- Wider family who support ECHO members
- Professionals supporting families as part of Evelina London Children’s Hospital networks.
ECHO offers a number of practical services aimed at supporting these families, often when there is little other help available. We aim to support members from across the UK and do so both within Evelina London Children’s Hospital, local general hospitals and throughout the community. Find out how we support families here.
We receive no government or NHS funding and rely solely on public generosity to ensure that we continue to support and empower children, young people and families affected by heart disease.
