About us
Who we are
The East of England Agricultural Society (EEAS) has a rich history dating back to 1797. The core goals of the Society are centred around promoting agriculture and rural life in the East of England. The Society, is a registered charity, currently based at the East of England Showground in Peterborough. We currently operate a programme including evening talks and dinners for our members, deliver our Kids Country educational outreach programme on all aspects of the field to fork journey and extend bursaries via the EEAS Scholars Programme. The Society also manages the Marshal Papworth Trust, a fund supporting agricultural education in developing countries and Cultiv8 a group for networking and knowledge exchange for young people working in the rural sector. We are embarking on a transition to become a grant awarding organisation following the sale of the East of England Showground. The change in strategic direction will widen the field of opportunities for the EEAS to reach more people and promote its charitable aims.
