Who we are

East African Playgrounds enhances the lives of children across East Africa by developing children’s creativity, learning opportunities and environments through play in a sustainable holistic manner.  

• To allow children free access to a safe place develop their creative and inter-personal skills through the natural form of play
• To empower young people to develop themselves and their communities through employment and our projects
• To provide ethical volunteering experiences to promote the positive image of East Africa

Objectives

The charities objectives are to train young men and women in Uganda to become professional builders and welders; to then use their new skills to build high quality playgrounds across Uganda. These playgrounds enable the children to make the most of their childhood by developing their social, mental and physical selves through play.  The charity provides arts and play programs at child care provisions to emphasise the importance of play and help the children develop. In providing ethical volunteering projects we promote a positive image of East Africa as well as complementing our core focus. Development through play.
