About us
Who we are
Durham Students' Union represents over 17,000 students studying at Durham University. The University has two campuses - Durham City and Queen's Campus (located in Stockton) - and is one of the top universities in the UK. It has a distinctive collegiate structure which includes 16 colleges (14 Durham City, 2 Queen's Campus) and 15 junior (undergraduate) and one graduate common rooms. Each common room is, in effect, a small independent students' union.
The Union acts as a unified voice on campus and leads on issues such as academic representation and the provision of facilities. We run one of the most successful RAG (raise and give) operations (DUCK) and support 200 almost societies, which complement a smaller number of college/common room societies.
