Who we are

Durham Community Action (DCA) has been working alongside communities across County Durham since 1935. We are active members of professional networks at regional and national levels, contributing to VONNE (Voluntary Organisations Network North East) and ACRE (Action for Communities in Rural England), and we have a strong track record and interest in understanding and helping to shape public policy at national and regional levels.

Our core work is to champion the work of volunteer led organisations and groups, providing a rolling programme of information, advice, guidance and training, supporting volunteers and those who work with volunteers, and providing leadership for VCS partnerships and alliances.

As a registered Charity and Company Limited by Guarantee, we are independent, and can provide an objective and clear voice on behalf of the VCS in County Durham.
