About us
Who we are
Our Vision is that all young people have a place to call home and can fulfil their hopes and ambitions.
Established in 1993, we are a Doncaster-based charity, supporting young people at risk of homelessness to overcome barriers so they can achieve their potential and thrive. We provide a range of homelessness prevention services, with a focus on addressing the underlying causes of homelessness, including poor mental health, poor life skills and difficulty sustaining a tenancy. Our clients are in the age range 16-25.
As well as providing housing advice and supporting young people to find a home, our services include supported lodgings, shared housing, tenancy support and a range of counselling and wellbeing support. We also provide volunteering opportunities for clients and run an employment skills project.
We are committed to putting clients at the heart of our work, particularly in terms of service design and delivery and in early 2023 introduced a Client Scrutiny Group, through which clients will hold the organisation to account.
Our strategic objectives are Homelessness Prevention and Realising Potential which support our Mission "to transform the lives of young people aged 16-25 who are vulnerable to homelessness, through the provision of user-led services, so they can achieve their own unique potential".
We are a staff team of 11, based in our offices at the Doncaster Foyer in central Doncaster. Our income in 2022-23 was just under £400k and this was secured from a range of sources, including a local authority contract, National Lottery and other grant funding, through earned income and fundraising. We support around 350 young people each year.
