About us
Who we are
Our vision is a society where individuals are valued and respected for their differences.
Our mission is to enable individuals with disabilities to achieve independence and live with choice and dignity.
We do this by providing benefits advice, guidance and support for disabled people and their carers. Our support is provided over the phone, by email and face-to-face.
Our culture and values
- Empowerment - Our clients should be empowered to live full and independent lives.
- Efficiency - We are an efficient and effective organisation.
- Fairness - We believe that all citizens regardless of abilities, needs or diversity should be treated equally.
- Partnership - We aim to work with and alongside our clients, not to do things to or for them. We also strive to work closely with other organisations who further the cause of our clients in the local community.
- Competence - It is our duty to develop skill and competence so that we can effectively support and advise our clients.
- Diversity - We respect and value the diverse community within which we operate. We also strive to work closely with other organisations.
Equality, diversity and inclusion policy
Disability Huntingdonshire (DISH) is committed to encouraging equality, diversity, and inclusion among our staff, volunteers and those that we support and work with, and eliminating unlawful discrimination. The aim is for our workforce to be truly representative of all sections of society and our clients, and for each staff member to feel respected and able to give their best.
