About us
Who we are
We have been supporting survivors of domestic and sexual abuse in Breckland, Norfolk since 2015.
We have five main service delivery strands:
1. Our Daisy Programme support service providing sustained long term support for domestic abuse survivors
2. Our Rowan Project providing therapeutic support for survivors of sexual abuse, including historic childhood sexual abuse
3. Our NIDAS service, delivered in partnership with Leeway, providing Idva support for high and medium risk domestic abuse survivors
4. Our Fantastic Families service providing support for parents and children affected by domestic abuse
5. Our Early Help and Community Outreach service delivering domestic abuse training and awareness and community sessions
Our purpose: To work with others, especially those with lived experience, to build awareness and understanding of domestic and sexual abuse and to support survivors to look forward to the future and not be controlled by the past.
Our mission: To empower people who have experienced abuse to recover, build resilience and live positive, healthy, and productive lives.
We provide services that:
· Support people to develop confidence and belief in their ability to create a new future
· Enable people to move on from their past with better well-being and new ways of thinking and living
· Help people to value themselves by understanding abuse and their experiences and have pride in their progress and achievements
· Create support networks and a sense of belonging
· Give people tools to reduce stress, build skills and release trauma held in the body through creative and mindful activities
· Empower survivors to achieve a sense of purpose and potential
Our values:
Person Centred - we believe each person is different, as is their experience of abuse, and we will listen to and value those differences, giving choice in how people receive our services.
Strengths Based - we believe that with the right support every person has the potential to improve their lives and we will help people to build on their personal strengths to achieve lasting change through collaboration and empowerment.
Trauma Informed - we believe that people should not be defined by the trauma they have experienced, and how that manifests, and we will provide high quality services that are safe, consistent, transparent and evidence based.
Because we know that the impact of abuse doesn’t end when the crisis is over, and that survivors can face many difficulties in rebuilding their lives, with funding from the National Lottery Community Fund, we are creating a new trauma recovery service that will build on our successful work supporting domestic and sexual abuse survivors since 2015.
