About us

Who we are

89%* of men in the UK will experience fatherhood in their lifetime. We know that children have better outcomes in life when all parents are actively involved in their upbringing (*Fatherhood Institute). We welcome all Dads/Male carers, including trans and non-binary Dads at our groups and services.

Our aim is to improve outcomes for children in Scotland, to ensure the best start in life by providing support to Dads and families. Our hope is through achieving this, there will be a larger shift in society toward accepting the vital role Dads play.

Fantastic news! For the first time ever in Scotland, there’s now a national service to support Dads in the Perinatal stage who feel their mental health could be better (Perinatal is from when you first learn you are going to be a Dad and up to your babies first birthday). Dads Rock is a third sector agency focused on helping Dads to become more confident, engaged parents, and we know that new and exptectant Dads could especially use a little support. As a Perinatal Peer Support Volunteer, you would be an invaluable part of this support! If you’re a great listener and have 1 - 2 spare hours each week, we’d love to hear from you. You don’t need to have experienced poor mental health to be able to help, just lend an ear and a bit of your time.
