Who we are

At CVS South Gloucestershire we work to support, develop and represent the VCSE sector across South Gloucestershire. We aim to provide support to VCSE organisations to help them to develop, thrive and reach their full potential. We also represent them at forums and meetings and work to advocate for them, their accomplishments and needs. 

At CVS South Gloucestershire, we support our local charities, voluntary groups, and social enterprises to build a stronger community.  We work to empower local people to come together and take collective action that provides solutions to meet common problems by:

• Working with communities to find and deliver their own solutions
• Providing high quality support services to develop the capability and capacity of local voluntary and community organisations
• Enabling communities to have a strong voice locally and further afield
• Supporting communities and voluntary and community groups to come together to share knowledge and spread expertise
• Supporting the development of leadership in our communities
• Promoting Active Citizenship across South Gloucestershire

We are the local infrastructure charity working to support all other community, voluntary and social enterprise organisations across South Gloucestershire. CVS South Gloucestershire is a membership organisation but also supports the wider voluntary/charity/VCSE sector in our area. We provide information, advice and support to local groups of all shapes and sizes to help them to develop and grow (in confidence, capacity or turnover/scale).

Each year we support a diverse range of organisations, and we champion and advocate for the VCSE through many local and regional partnerships and forums. We offer support to groups in many areas including with policies and procedures, HR, finance, governance, volunteer recruitment and funding. 

We are a small but mighty team consisting of four staff, and seven Trustees committed to serving and championing the community, voluntary and social enterprise sector of South Gloucestershire.
