About us
Who we are
Crohn’s Disease and Ulcerative Colitis - two of the main forms of Inflammatory Bowel Disease (or IBD), affect more than 300,000 people in the UK. Yet it is largely a hidden disease, and one that causes stigma, fear and isolation. We’re the UK’s leading charity in the battle against Crohn’s Disease and Ulcerative Colitis. Our mission is to work with all those affected by these conditions to achieve a better quality of life, improve services, and ultimately find a cure. We want to see a world in which people’s lives are not limited by Crohn’s and Colitis.
Via our Crohn's and Colitis Support line we provide support to people living with Crohn's and Colitis, our volunteers take calls from people who want a safespace to talk about the impact IBD has on their lives.
We offer support to parents and carers of children under 25 years old via our Parent to Parent line.
Our DBS (Disability Benefit Support) service is staffed by volunteers with a working knowledge of the welfare benefit system who are able to support and advise people with IBD who are making applications for benefits, or people who wish to start the appeal process for an existing beneift application.
