Who we are
Crisis Point is a registered charity and company and was set up to provide a real response to the high prevalence of sexual crimes - rape, sexual assault and child sexual abuse and the evidence of its harmful effects on the physical, psychological and emotional health of victims and their families.
We identify and provide effective specialist interventions for all victims/ survivors of sexual crimes (& families or supporters of), suffering the trauma of sexual violence and abuse, through the provision of short and long term therapeutic counselling, practical help and support.
The core ethos of the charity is to ensure that all residents of our local communities, who may have suffered sexual crimes against them, receive effective therapeutic help, practical support and guidance from the organisation aiming to:
- Reduce the psychological damage, self harm and suicide associated with victimisation;
- To improve the physical, psychological, emotional health and quality of life of victims and their families;
- To minimise revictimisation and;
- To help prevent continued and new offending.
The charity is committed to helping clients overcome emotional pain and psychological trauma that they may be suffering - whether it is from a recent event or something that happened years ago, that is still on their mind and in many cases affecting them on a daily basis.
The charity offers its services to women, men and children (3 - 18 years old) who would like help in dealing with their very personal and individual experience of rape and sexual abuse, as well as any other issues they may be struggling with, caused by this violent crime.
