Who we are
CRESTCREST Waltham Forest is a generic voluntary sector social development agency, established in 1971.
Our current projects include@
1. Ageing Well - An older adults community day care service working with clients who have a disability and/or dementia
2. Harmony Hall -- a community centre in the heart of Walthamstow offering adult learning, health and wellbeing opportunities, faith communities, mental health support, space to hire and much more to borough residents
3. The Snug - an adult mental health project that offers peer support activities, workshops and training to anyone in the borough who experiences mental ill-health and who may be at risk of being socially isolated; a service designed by its members and includes creative writing; yoga and breathwork; art/creative sessions; music; physical exercise; a group offering relaxed conversation on many topics and much much more
4. Well-Being Cafe in E4 - offering adults who experience mild to moderate mental illness and who are socially isolated, 10 free sessions that include the 5 ways to Well-Being as part of the programme
5. The Big Local -- CREST has been chosen by local residents to be the locally trusted organisation for five of the national lottery Big Locals. Two have now ended but 3 remain and these are St James Street, Hackney Wick and Somers Town
CREST regularly offers local people volunteering opportunities across all its projects/services and provides training and support to help make a difference within the local communities that make up Waltham Forest
