Covent Garden Area Trust

Who we are

The Covent Garden Area Trust is a charity that aims to maintain and preserve the special character and unique built heritage of the Covent Garden area. Established in 1988, the Trust was formed to protect Covent Garden, its architectural character including buildings and features of historical interest. The Trust also seeks to develop the special qualities of the area including preserving the mix of residential, business and other uses which characterise the area.  The Trust is the Superior Landlord of the market buildings and has a particular interest in an area around the buildings known as the Protected Lands, deriving its income and seeking to fulfil its aims and objectives by way of the grant of licences to the freeholder.
