About us
Who we are
Citizens Advice helps people to solve problems and change lives. We provide free, independent, confidential and impartial advice to help everyone who needs us.
Based in Esher, our local service serves the communities of east Elmbridge in Surrey. The advice we give to residents and workers across the Borough can help them find a way forward with their problems - be they issues at work, with the welfare system, paying back debts or with housing concerns.
Each year our office helps around 2,000 people with 6,000 issues. We can be found on the local high street and in other community settings to give advice face to face. You can also reach us over the phone and online.
Our service is delivered by over 30 highly-trained volunteers supported by a small paid team who manage the charity.
By helping people solve their problems, we create financial value. This means that we save the local authority, government and society money by stopping problems that are, or will become, costly to fix. In 2023-24 we helped our clients achieve financial outcomes of more than £713,500 by getting back-dated benefits, writing-off debts and gaining refunds for consumer issues.
Equality, diversity and inclusion policy
We aim to create an equitable, accessible and inclusive service for all clients, paid staff and volunteers, including trustees
We seek to represent the diverse communities that we serve.
We are committed to developing and sustaining an inclusive workplace environment, where every member of staff and volunteer feels valued and understands their critical role in advancing EDI for our clients and workforce
We want to create a culture that challenges discrimination and promotes EDI, across our service delivery and among our staff and volunteers
