About us
Who we are
Changing Our Lives is a rights based organisation that works in coproduction with disabled people and people with lived experience of mental health difficulties, developing projects which combat health inequalities and social injustice. We are community development led and thrive on creativity. Responding to what people tell us they need, we have a varied and changing range of work including such projects as a Mental Health People's Parliament; One Small Change autism awareness project; Speakeasy where people with learning disabilities and autistic people tell their stories, working with a musician these stories become songs; projects which focus on communication for people with the label 'Profound and Multiple Learning Disability' who use few if any words to communicate and Short Black n Sides which is a barber shop project working with Black men to raise their awareness of mental health.
