About us
Who we are
CASY (Counselling and Support for Young People) started in 1998 when there was a perceived lack of emotional support and counselling for young homeless people in the Newark and Sherwood District of Nottinghamshire. Originally working at the Unique Coffee Bar, our work gradually widened to encompass new venues and areas.
In 2000 we registered as a charity and since then has gradually increased both in the number of volunteer therapists and areas benefitting from the service. We now cover Nottinghamshire and Lincolnshire and provide counselling in many schools throughout both counties. We also deliver counselling from our main office in Newark and various community venues. We also deliver training, workshops and talks for young people, parents and carers, therapists and school staff.
