Who we are
Canterbury Food Bank is a registered charitable incorporated organisation which has been operating in the Canterbury district since 2012, providing emergency food parcels each of which includes food for at least 9 meals for one person to individuals and families who are in short-term financial crisis.
Canterbury Food Bank’s vision is ‘Caring for local people in crisis’ and its charitable objects are:
The prevention or relief of poverty or financial hardship in the Canterbury City Council district (as defined at the date of incorporation) in particular but not exclusively by:
- the provision of emergency food parcels, items, services and facilities to individuals in financial need.
- contributing to and cooperating with charities and other organisations working to prevent or relieve poverty within the administrative county of Kent.
The charity provides emergency food parcels to individuals and families in short term financial crisis across the Canterbury District (Canterbury, Whitstable, Herne Bay and surrounding villages).
