About us

Who we are

CPRE Oxfordshire promotes the beauty, tranquillity and diversity of rural Oxfordshire by encouraging the sustainable use of land and other natural resources in both town and country. We are part of the national CPRE network.

Our volunteers, supported by a small staff team:

  • Monitor and respond to hundreds of local planning applications.

  • Campaign to influence local and national planning and land-use policies.

  • Give advice and support to parish councils and local campaign groups.

  • Promote solutions such as re-using already developed land or increasing housing density.

  • Take action to improve the countryside and help rural communities, such as creating and maintaining walks like the Oxford Green Belt Way and the D’Arcy Dalton Way.
