About us
Who we are
Cambridge SU is the university-wide central representative body for 24,000+ students at the University of Cambridge and the Colleges. Cambridge SU is a federal body made up of individual college students' unions.
The aims of the Students’ Union are to support and advance the educational, social and cultural experience of its members, alongside supporting the welfare of its members, promoting equal opportunities within the University, and encouraging equal access to Cambridge for applicants, both through schemes aimed at those from non-traditional backgrounds and our representational work in the University. Cambridge SU is a registered charity.
The Union is a creative and progressive student-led organisation working to support, represent and campaign on behalf of students at the University of Cambridge in order to improve every aspect of students' experiences at the institution; our staff are key enablers to the work of the union on behalf of Cambridge SU's membership community.
Those joining our team will see we want to achieve a lot at Cambridge SU. The atmosphere at Cambridge SU is friendly and informal, and the personality of our organisation incorporates energy, ambition alongside a dedication to equality. If you enjoy working for and amongst students of any age and background, you will enjoy working for Cambridge SU.
We welcome applicants from diverse backgrounds. We particularly welcome applications from those from Black, Asian and an ethnic minority backgrounds, as they are under-represented within Cambridge SU at this level. We are also happy to discuss any reasonable adjustments individuals may require in the recruitment process, on commencement, or once in post (we are in the process of becoming Two Ticks registered and are committed to its criteria).
Cambridge SU is committed to creating an inclusive organisation in which all members and employees are respected, discrimination is not tolerated and diversity is encouraged. All members and employees will be treated fairly and with respect. Selection for employment, promotion, training or any other benefit will be on the basis of aptitude and ability.
