Who we are

The British Association for Immediate Care was founded in 1977. The Association has three core activities and these are:

1. An umbrella association to over 30 local and regional immediate care schemes who provide volunteer doctors, nurses and paramedics who respond to 999 calls on behalf of their local NHS ambulance services. At scene, they provide specialist enhanced and critical care to the most seriously ill and injured patients. 
2. A professional membership association for individuals interested in, or who are providing pre-hospital care whether as part of their job or for many in a voluntary capacity.
3. An internationally respected provider of specialist pre-hospital care courses.

The office staff work on a hybrid basis combining home-office working and when necessary coming into the office in the centre of Ipswich.
