Who we are
Bristol Pound’s goal is to improve economic inclusivity and resilience in Bristol by operating a local currency, the Bristol Pound.
We want more of the money spent in Bristol to stay in the local area, rather than disappearing out of the area to distant head offices, supply chains and shareholders.
We create and manage paper Bristol Pounds, and work with our partners to enable people to use electronic Bristol Pounds too, so that they can pay using our smartphone app, or by online bank transfer.
Bristol Pounds can only be spent at participating local businesses in Bristol, strengthening independent businesses and helping to ensure that the local economy is resilient and inclusive.
