About us
Who we are
Bristol Energy Cooperative is a community energy not-for-profit, growing the region’s green power whilst making the benefits open to all.
Our vision is for an energy system which is:
⮚ zero carbon
⮚ effective and secure
⮚ equitable and environmentally responsible
⮚ supported by local communities
Since 2010, our community of over 1500 investor members have collectively raised £8.6million to develop 17 renewable energy projects. Our people-powered installations are generating nearly 10MWh of energy each year, enough to power 3000 homes. That’s roughly a third of all solar energy generation in Bristol. Revenues from our projects have helped us to raise over £350,000 in community benefit payments, which has gone into ultra local community initiatives.
