About us
Who we are
Who we are
Boys in Mind is a Bath-based charity committed to promoting positive mental health and preventing suicide, with a particular focus on boys and young men. We believe in the power of youth voice, lived experience, and open, stigma-free conversations about mental health.
We work collaboratively with children, young people, schools, families, and professionals to create safe, supportive environments where everyone feels empowered to talk about their wellbeing. Our team delivers training, produces youth-led films and resources, and runs awareness campaigns designed to challenge stereotypes, reduce stigma, and promote emotional resilience.
All of our work is grounded in partnership and prevention, with young people leading the way.

Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Policy
At Boys in Mind, we are fully committed to promoting equality, celebrating diversity, and ensuring inclusion across all aspects of our work.
We recognise that systemic inequalities—whether related to gender, race, disability, sexuality, age, socioeconomic background or other factors—impact people’s mental health and wellbeing. We actively work to challenge these inequalities and create inclusive, safe spaces where everyone feels respected and valued.
Our approach includes:
-
Zero tolerance of discrimination: We do not tolerate any form of discrimination, harassment, or bullying. We expect all those working with us—freelancers, trustees, volunteers and partners—to uphold this standard.
-
Inclusive representation: We strive to reflect the diversity of our communities in our team, youth advisors, content and decision-making processes.
-
Equity in recruitment and opportunity: We promote fair and transparent recruitment practices and provide equal access to training, development and leadership opportunities.
-
Ongoing learning: We engage in continuous reflection and improvement, offering regular training around unconscious bias, inclusive language, anti-racism, gender identity and neurodiversity.
-
Youth empowerment: We create platforms for young people from all backgrounds to lead, share their lived experiences, and shape our work in ways that reflect their realities.
By embedding equality, diversity and inclusion into everything we do, we aim to ensure that everyone we work with feels seen, heard and supported.

Our culture and values
At Boys in Mind, our culture is rooted in compassion, inclusion, and collaboration. We believe that everyone—regardless of gender, background or experience—has the right to feel heard, valued, and supported when it comes to their mental health.
Our core values are:
-
Youth-Partnered: Young people are at the centre of our work. We work in partnership with them, valuing their voices, insights and leadership to co-create projects and shape decision-making.
-
Authenticity: We value real stories, lived experience, and honest conversations. We create safe spaces where people feel comfortable being themselves.
-
Equity and Inclusion: We challenge stereotypes, promote gender equality, and work to ensure that our projects reflect the diverse communities we serve.
-
Prevention-Focused: We believe in early intervention and creating a culture where mental health is prioritised before crisis point.
-
Collaboration: We work closely with schools, families, professionals and local partners to co-create meaningful, sustainable change.
Our working practices reflect these values—we’re flexible, respectful, and people-focused. Whether working with young collaborators, educators, or mental health professionals, we foster an open, kind and responsive team culture where everyone’s contribution matters.
