About us
Who we are
Blind in Business was formed in 1992 by three blind law graduates, They set-up the charity to reverse negative stereotypes regarding sightloss. Concentrating on technology, confidence and raising peoples abilities to think of employment and offering support to young people throughout education until they become employed.
We help people into employment throughout all industries.
The charity gives confidence to young sight impaired people, so they can think positively about their futures in employment. Through our Training Service we work with young children and their families to introduce them to sight impaired role models working in modern careers in law, teaching, banking to name a few.
BIB work throughout all of the UK with our office based near Old Street.
We are a small team with a Training and an Employment Service helping undergraduates and graduates into good jobs.
In a good year we train over 150 children and help over 40 people into good jobs
Aims and objectives of Blind in Business:
1 To give employers confidence to take on blind people.
2 To raise the aspirations and abilities of young blind people so they can find their first good job.
3 To take young people away from the state dependencies of benefits.
4 To give parents and careers of blind people the understanding of what their children can do in the future, with the right support and technology advice of Blind in Business.
