Who we are
Blackburn Youth Darts Academy is a Non-Profit Organisation that offers coaching and activities within the sport of darts to children and youths aged from 6 years to 18 years. Blackburn is the only such academy in the entire North West of England that are affiliated to the Junior darts Corporation, and because of this we have students attending our Academy from all over including Manchester, Bolton, Bury, Preston, Bradford and many other areas.
Not only does the academy offer an alternative sport to youths and gives them something positive to do in a safe environment, but it also helps students to enhance their maths skills. Lots of local schools have asked for the academy to visit schools to run darts sessions because of this fact.
The academy is growing at a rate which requires us to actively start recruiting more volunteers. Anyone that wants to volunteer doesnt need to have knowledge or a strong interest in darts although this would be beneficial, but an interest in working with young people or a sport setting would be an advantage. All applicants are subject to a full DBS Check.
