Who we are
BIG Stop charity is aimed at empowering and supporting young people to create active social change within their local and international communities and become BIGchange citizens.
We do this by encouraging, empowering and inspiring young people to think about how they can have a positive impact in the world they live in by following the concept of intergenerational equity. BIG Stop wants long lasting changes in society that is beneficial to all communities both local and global, by educating and empowering young people to be active citizens and change the world we live in.
We want a better world for future generations and ensure that discrimination, inequalities and social injustices will one day no longer exist and help young people be the catalyst for the change they want to see in the world.
The award winning BIGchange Educational Programme will enable students to be involved in a unique six-step program which explores issues such as female empowerment, hunger, inequality, sustainability, poverty, education, homelessness, LGBT equality and bullying to help bring about change for communities and individuals now and for in the future.
The aim of the programme is to give students the tools and opportunities to successfully plan and organise a campaign which is engaging, empowering, educational and creates social change both in the UK and overseas.
BIG Stop Day is an annual youth empowerment event organised by the charity BIG Stop in the UK, USA and Canada in conjunction with the BIGchange educational Programme. The stadium sized global event motivates young people to take action on local and global issues, and marks the start of the educational programme.
BIG Stop Charity, BIG Stop Day and the BIGchange Educational Programmes are all driven by our BIGchange philosophy: to empower young people to create sustainable changes in our local and global communities by following the concept of intergenerational equity.
BIG Stop Charity, pledge to give over 1 million people the gift of clean water by the end of 2019.
