About us
Who we are
BASICS Essex is an Emergency Medical Charity that equips, supports and trains Volunteer Critical Care Doctors and Paramedics to respond to patients who have suffered serious injury or illness.
Called out by the Regional Ambulance Service Critical Care desk the Volunteer Emeregcny Medical Responders respond from home in their own car, carrying the all the advanced equipment to provide hospital level care before they get there. They also respond in the scheme Critical Care Car provding spcialist drugs, skills and experience to ensure the patient gets the best care.
It costs us about £120,000 to keep us saving lives. We have embarked on an ambitious strategy until 2025 to grow our volunteers and charity to save more lives.
This is an exciting time for the small charity who have just leased their first office and looking to grow so we can support more people when they most need it... day or night.
