About us
Who we are
The Awareness Foundation, a Registered Charity, was established in 2003. Our mission is "To equip Christians everywhere to form an effective counter force to the intolerance and aggression that now prevail in so many communities, and to build understanding between the faiths."
The Foundation has five full-time staff, a part-time staff member in Syria, and a team of volunteers. The atmosphere in our open plan office is supportive and collaborative; no-one is expected to work entirely alone and everybody lends a hand to help out when required. We are based in a converted bungalow just off the Kings Road between Chelsea and World's End.
We have a small Board of Trustees, a Royal Patron (HRH The Countess of Wessex GCVO) and no less that seven Patrons: The Rt Revd and Rt Hon The Lord Williams of Oystermouth (Archbishop of Canterbury until 2012); Earl Cadogan KBE DL; His Grace Bishop Angaelos (general bishop of the Coptic Orthodox Church in the UK); The Revd Dr Lord Griffiths of Burry Port (Methodist minister and life peer); The Most Revd Paul Kwong (Anglican Archbishop of Hong Kong); The Most Revd Kevin McDonald KC*HS (Roman Catholic Archbishop Emeritus of Southwark); and The Lord Gordon of Strathclyde KBE.
