Who we are
Founded in 1968 by parents of children with autism, Autism Wessex is the regional charity providing high quality specialist services for people affected by autism and associated difficulties across the counties of Dorset, Hampshire, Wiltshire and Somerset
Our vision is a world wher epeople with autism are active citizens enjoying maximum independence and a good quality of live.
Our Services
Autism Wessex provides education at Portfield Shcool, social care in Community Support Services and Residential Services, Advocacy and Advice services and Training opportunities.
Portfield School:
Portfield School provides education for up to 70 children with Autism. In purpose-built and high quality facilities the school offers the highest standards of education.
Community Support Services:
Our Community team provide a range of personalised social care services to with with autism and other developmental disorders, learning disabilities and associated mental health problems across the region.
Residential Services:
We have 8 residential homes for adults across the Wessex region. Each home accommodates 4 people with a close knit team of support workers to meet the needs of those who live there.
Advocacy & Advice:
We offer a range of free services to anyone with, or affected by autism. These include information & advice, benefits workshops, drop-in groups, training programs and support groups.
