Who we are

The Animal Welfare Foundation (AWF) is run by veterinary and animal welfare professionals with a collective vision for all animals to enjoy a better life, free from pain and suffering.

Veterinary expertise underpins all our work, giving us a unique insight into the many challenges facing us in animal welfare and the expertise and passion to deliver solutions.

Our work covers three main areas: 

   - Advice for owners: we produce evidence based guidance for owners and vets

   - Research: we fund scientific research to improve the health of animals in the UK

   - Education and debate: we offer free welfare talks to veterinary students and host an annual symposium on animal welfare
