About us
Who we are
Airwars is a non-aligned, not for profit organisation monitoring local allegations of civilian harm from international military actions in multiple conflict zones - which include Iraq, Syria and Libya. We publish our findings in an accessible, open-source database. And we work where possible with militaries to help them better understand civilian harm - with the aim of reducing battlefield casualties.
Airwars was set up by professional researchers and journalists to help us better understand the true effects of airstrikes on the modern battlefield. Headquartered at Goldsmiths, University of London we have quickly become a globally respected independent voice on this key issue. Airwars is able to focus on improving both transparency and public accountability of militaries - while encouraging a healthy public debate on the critical issue of civilian harm.
