About us
Who we are
Our Vision is to create a world where everyone loves later life
We aim to provide person centred care for older people in and around Medway while enabling independent living, dignity and respect.
Our range of services provide opportunities for coming together in Day Centres to make friends and join in group activities and socialise with others, but also opportunities for individuals who may be unable to access these services due to health, mobility and those who may be on lower incomes through our Befriending Service.
Befrienders can offer as much or as little time as they have, this can be done in the evenings, weekends or during the week to fit in with your day to day routine, on average a visit with someone in their home can be from 45mins to an hour but once you get to know your person, time generally becomes irrelevant.
Ellen has had the same Befriender for over 2yrs, she says
"Its always nice to feel that someone has not forgotten me, she always has a smile and will do anything for me if I asked. I love to hear about her family and what she’s done on holiday. She has a love of dogs as I do and she always has a treat in her bag for my dog".
Rosemary says
"Jan is a reason for me getting up in the mornings. We discuss things that have been in the news and generally put the world to rights.
“She’s an Angel in disguise”"
We rely on our volunteers to support all of these services and currently need to have a steady uptake of volunteers in all areas if you have some spare time you could help too.
