About us
Who we are
Our Mission is to promote the wellbeing of all older people in Ealing and empower them to achieve full quality of life.
We provide a range of support services for older people in Ealing, including a Day Centre, an Information & Advice, Befriending, Digital Inclusion and Gardening services.
Our Information & Advice Service offers one-to-one support for older people on a range of issues including finance, housing, benefits and health issues.
The Day Centre in Greenford, opened two days a week, offers an opportunity for older people to meet one another, to socialise, have some exercise or activities together such as arts and crafts, chair yoga and singing, and to have breakfast and lunch together.
Our Befriending services offers telephone and in-person contact for companionship and help with things like shopping trips and household tasks.
Our Digital Inclusion service encourages older learners to feel safe when using technology and motivate them so they can enjoy the benefits of using the internet.
In addition, our Gardening Service offers customers a professional and friendly service carried out by experienced gardeners who are all fully vetted.
Through this combination of support, we ensure that older people have the right information, are able to live well at home, and have someone to talk to so they don’t feel alone.
Our culture and values
Our VALUES are to be:
- Professional and Accessible
- Provide quality information, advice and advocacy to help ensure that the best possible quality of life is achieved and be clear about what we can and cannot offer
- Monitor and evaluate what we do, to ensure we are making a difference
- Make it easy for people to access information about what we are doing and to access the services we provide
Equality, diversity and inclusion policy
Age UK Ealing (AUKE) recognises the importance of equality, diversity, and inclusion. We operate in an increasingly diverse community, and we understand that the people who provide and use our services have diverse characteristics and different experiences, needs and aspirations.
Understanding, valuing and effectively managing these differences can help us widen participation in and access to our services. It can also support the success of our Board, staff teams and volunteers.
AUKE is committed to creating an inclusive working environment where individual differences are valued and respected, and in which each trustee, staff member and volunteer is able to fulfil his/her potential and maximise his/her contribution.
It is the responsibility of all trustees, staff members and volunteers to be aware of and to apply this policy. The Board is fully committed to this policy and will endeavour to ensure its full implementation.
