Who we are

Age UK Coventry & Warwickshire is an independent charity providing a wide range of services to adults and older people across the City of Coventry and the County of Warwickshire.

Our Head Office is in Leamington Spa, and we have an office in Warwick Row, in Coventry. Our services and shops are spread throughout the city and county. We employ over 200 staff and have over 250 incredible volunteers.  

Our mission statement is to improve later life with dignity and independence. 

The work of the charity is diverse and includes: 

• Information and Advice services 

• Befriending and Counselling services 

• An appointeeship service for vulnerable adults to manage their finances 

• Hospital Social Prescribing in Warwickshire 

• Contracts with statutory authorities to deliver general support and day care support for people with dementia 

• Domestic support services to help people with shopping, cleaning and gardening 

• Physical and social opportunity activities to help keep older people, active and socially engaged 

• High Street charity shops 

• Re-use shops, based at recycling centres across the county 

In 2022, the Trustees and Leadership Team launched their three-year strategic plan, enabling us to prepare proactively and address issues with a more long-term view.  

The strategic aims of the charity: 

Enabling Independence through Health and Care Services –  

We will provide high quality services that enables independence by addressing health and care needs 

Promoting the Voices of Older People –  

We will understand the issues facing older people and ensure their voices are heard by local and national policy and decision makers. 

Connecting with our Communities –  

We will reflect our communities and be responsive to specific needs 

Improving access to Advice and Information –  

We will reach out to older people, their families and carers and support them with advice and information they need 

Tackling Loneliness and Isolation –  

We will work with our partners within the community to encourage and enable regular social contact and friendships for our older people.

In December 2022, the charity was awarded Age UK Charity Quality Standard status. This standard is externally assessed by industry leaders who undertake a rigorous review of our working practice. 

We are a vibrant charity with ambitions for every older person to live in age-friendly communities and places where they are welcomed as active, equal participants and enabled by their communities to lead an active, healthy and fulfilling life.
