Who we are
PAIWAND is a Refugee Community Organisation, our principal aim as an Afghan Community Organisation – to unite our refugee community and improve the quality of our community’s life in its new homeland, here in the United Kingdom.
We provide the following services:
Advocacy
Our advocacy service offers free and professional advice on benefits, housing debt and immigration |
Housing
We provide supported accommodation for unaccompanied minors and refugee youths (aged 16-18), with support from our team of qualified Key Workers who encourage the young people to gain the necessary skills to transition into independent living |
Education
Paiwand’s Education Project works in partnership with voluntary organisations, local authorities and mainstream schools in order to test a new model of high quality, sustainable supplementary school provision that raises the attainment of targeted disadvantaged children in critical National Curriculum subjects, such as Maths and English |
Mentoring
Paiwand’s Young Refugees Mentoring Project aims to address the specific needs of young refugees, asylum seekers and unaccompanied minors in Northwest London who are in need of one-to-one and group social, academic and community support|
Mental Health
The Mental Health Project aims to provide a safe space for refugees and migrants facing emotional hardship
Immigration Advice
The Immigration Programme offers Advice and support at OISC level 3. |
