About us
Who we are
At Action Syria, we work with local partners to make sure Syrian communities have the medical care and education they need, every day and when emergencies strike. In late 2024, Syria entered a new phase following the fall of the Assad regime, yet the humanitarian needs remain urgent. There is still much to do.
We partner with local organisations in Syria and its neighbouring countries, to provide the support and aid communities need most, and give you a way to help. We adapt to changing circumstances and make sure our funding gets to the right people quickly and safely.
We’re a small, forward-thinking charity which believes in giving Syrians a hand up, not a handout. We're teaching 80 Syrian refugee children, and delivering prosthetics to amputees in north-west Syria. As Syria begins to rebuild, we’re here for as long as we’re needed.
For over a decade, we've been on an extraordinary journey that started with four friends meeting in Damascus. What began as a response to the conflict that grew out of the Syrian uprising in 2011, has evolved into a powerful mission. We started at our kitchen table in 2012, inviting friends to enjoy Syrian food and help raise money for our friends in Syria. Today, we continue to take action, and have raised over £8 million for humanitarian aid.
As more areas of Syria become accessible, we're working with our Syrian partners to understand what people need most and reach communities that have been left behind. The challenges are significant—from the shocking state of many public hospitals to the lack of infrastructure in place to provide services such as education. As Syria begins to rebuild, we see this as a chance to provide essential support.
Your support is more critical than ever. Join us as we work with Syrian communities to rebuild and create a brighter future. Together, we can make a lasting difference.
