About us
Who we are
Age UK Walsall is an independent charity that has had a trusted and repected presence in the borough of Walsall since 1996 (formerly known as Age Concern Walsall). Our mission is to ensure that older and vulnerable people across Walsall have an improved quality of life; our Vision is to have a world in which older people flourish. We attempt to achieve this by providing a wide range of information, advice and support services aiming to support people to remain as independent and socially engaged as possible through their later years.
We developed a formal partnership wih Accord Housing Association in 2012, which resulted in our first successful tender under the Pathways 4 Life scheme. The scheme has gone from strength-to-strength over the last 5 years. This work delivers a diversity of support for people with dementia, their families and carers. Pathways 4 Life is funded by Walsall Clinical Commissioning Group and Walsall Council.
Accord Housing Association is one of the largest housing and social care organisations in the Midlands, providing 13,000 affordable homes and health and social care to 80,000 people and employing nearly 4,000. Accord is a values-led social business motivated by adding social and economic value to the communities where it works and specialises in involving customers and communities in shaping the homes and services that they provide.
