About us
Who we are
2nd Chance is an innovative and ground-breaking six month ‘education to employment’ training programme. We support disadvantaged young people (aged 18-24), who are not in education, employment or training (NEET) to find sustained employment with prospects. We do this in three ways. First, we work individually with each participant to develop attitudes, behaviours and skills to be successful in their first career role. Second, through innovative project based learning developed with and working alongside employers, we support young people to gain the basic skills and qualifications that they need in English, maths and ICT (up to Functional Skills level 2) to create successful and fulfilling careers. Third, we offer a variety of opportunities to work with a range of employers in a structured work experience programme. Throughout the programme our course participants are supported by a professional Career Coach and, for their first year in work, by a trained mentor. We are a new, ambitious and dynamic organisation, passionate about enabling young people to succeed, and take pride in working together as a high performing, fun and entrepreneurial team.
