The CEO will be reporting to the Co-Chairs and directly line managing the Head of Income Generation and the Finance Manager. About the role
As the Account Manager you will contribute to and effectively support our global programme partnerships work, to achieve Save the Children's strategic objectives.
The focus of the role will include maximising the impact of SCUK's relationships with the UK Government including Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO), ensure effective knowledge management and capacity building for the UK Government account internally – including for UK Government funded programmes, pipeline and influencing work.

We support young people to use their voice by providing them with outstanding democratic education. We work with young people, teachers and politicians to help them to learn, teach and engage in politics. We are a non-partisan organisation working across the UK. We are experts in supporting young people and politicians to engage through political contact.
We also coordinate the Democracy Classroom network, a partnership between over 100 civil society organisations that supports young people to engage in elections.
ABOUT THE ROLE
The Office Manager would work with our small team of 7 staff by providing organisational and administrative support.
The ideal candidate will possess exceptional organisational skills, advanced proficiency in G-Suite (Docs, Sheets, Slides), general bookkeeping skills and the ability to work effectively with minimal supervision. Experience of working with a database is a desirable skill.
The post holder will:

Background to the role
AUKEL recruited a new Chief Executive in April 2023, and a new chair in February 2024. In March 2024 we published an ambitious five year strategy which sets out how we want to increase the extent we meet the needs of older people in East London. We have a number of organisational transformation objectives which underpin the strategy; these are things we need to do to strengthen our foundations (following a period of rapid growth) and equip us to deliver safe effective services, at scale, across our footprint.
We are looking for someone to join our team to work with the Service Director to lead the transformation of our Hospital and Home services. These:
- Currently are provided at four hospitals broadly covering four boroughs: Homerton (Hackney), Newham (Newham), The Royal London (Tower Hamlets), Whipps Cross (Waltham Forest). And are staffed by 16 AUKEL employees – three co-ordinators, two project officers, 10 support workers, and an administrator.
- Homerton and The Royal London are jointly commissioned until end March 2029. Newham has been extended to the end of June 2026. Whipps Cross is due to be re-procured, with a short extension under consideration, we aim to jointly bid for this with our neighbouring AUKs.
- Assist vulnerable adults in getting home from hospital, carrying out safety checks in the home, give advice on practical and wellbeing matters, and visiting regularly for a period of four to six weeks after discharge
- Are commissioned based on meeting pre-agreed targets for the number of referrals accepted, and are fully embedded into the hospital discharge system.
- Typically include provision of handyperson services, which is operationally delivered separately by three handypeople.
- Include our (paid for) Home and Care service which is delivered separately to our hospital discharge services, and currently supports c. 40 individuals.

Job Purpose
The Head of Hospital and Home Services will work with the Director on strategic and operational planning and provide operational leadership for the range of Hospital and Care services delivered by Age UK East London. This role is a fantastic opportunity to be part of significant organisational change, to make an impact at a local level, and ensure that older people’s needs are recognised and met effectively. The purpose of this role is to:
· Take responsibility for the delivery of the Hospital and Home service, ensuring its delivery requirements are met and we are responsive to new opportunities.
· Manage and maintain good relationships with commissioners and professionals in the local health and social care system.
· Lead a programme of structural and cultural change in the Hospital and Home service:
- Review the service staffing and delivery arrangements, assessing which services need allocated staff and which would be better delivered by a central team.
- Introduce processes and embed good practice in case recording, reporting and data collection.
- Motivate and engage a dispersed workforce, developing a supportive and flexible culture with consistent service standards.
- Ensure that older people who are supported by the Hospital and Home team also benefit from the range of AUKEL services and those provided by other local partners.
· Ensure the hospital discharge service, the handyperson service and the home and care (paid for service) work together efficiently and effectively.
· Address performance issues in the Home and Care (paid for service), working with senior colleagues (in communications, finance and HR) to develop a financially sustainable model.
· Work with senior leaders across AUKEL, contributing your experience and expertise to problem solve, spot and develop opportunities as well as make an impact on our overall organisational development journey.
As the role develops or AUKEL begins delivering new services, the scope of the role may expand. The post holder will need to:
· Use sophisticated interpersonal and influencing skills to build rapport with a wide range of stakeholders including commissioners, partner providers, senior health and social care professionals, operational staff, volunteers and service users / patients, and maintain AUKEL’s profile with these audiences.
· Motivate and inspire a frontline staff team, using excellent communication skills, a strong understanding of key issues affecting older people, and familiarity with the commissioning environment

Summary of Duties - Key Accountabilities & Deliverables
Coordination and Management of service
· Line manage service coordinators, and oversee the good management of all service staff.
· Ensure the service is delivered in line with contractual requirements
· Working with other senior managers, ensuring good joined up internal referral pathways, clear communication and joint-working where possible
· Ensure the team is fully conversant with the organisation’s CRM (currently Charitylog) and that this is used effectively to record and manage casework and evidence of outcomes and impact of the service
· Ensure the team is knowledgeable about the local service offers and are effective in referring and signposting clients to other relevant services
· Complete and maintain relevant risk assessments.
· Ensure there is cover for gaps in service delivery (e.g. due to A/L or sickness).

Contract type

About WaterAid:
The climate crisis is a water crisis. Around the world, people are feeling the effects of climate change through water, including flooding, droughts, sea level rise, and irregular rainfall. Climate change is affecting seasonal and long-term water availability, meaning we can no longer rely on rain, river flows and aquifers.
The Resilient Water Accelerator is an initiative designed to increase the flow of private and public finance into water projects that help the most climate-vulnerable communities build resilience to climate change. Despite the high need, only 3% of total climate finance flows go towards water. Our mission is to demonstrate the business case for increased and enhanced public and private investment in water-related deals in emerging economies that strengthen resilience for climate-vulnerable communities and are replicable so that millions more can benefit. We are working to increase the speed, scale, and replicability of water investment by creating a pipeline of bankable projects, bringing together the right mix of financing with the right commercial structures and partners, and supporting improvements in the enabling environment.
About the Team:
We are a friendly, supportive, globally distributed team, bringing on-the-ground expertise and comprehensive perspectives, combining climate policy, water economics, private finance, measurement and evaluation, and governance. We are currently housed within WaterAid – the world’s largest NGO focused on providing water, sanitation, and hygiene outcomes for people in developing countries, and are one of WaterAid’s flagship programmes. We have a close partnership with Global Development Incubator, which is providing incubation support for the RWA.
The RWA currently has 11 staff, based in 6 countries, and we have plans to build the team to around 18-20 over the next couple of years, to extend our delivery from 2 countries (currently Nigeria and Bangladesh) to 6, and to secure additional financing to complement the investment we have secured from the UK Government.
About the Role:
The Manager – Climate & Water will play an important role in this small, international team by managing the integration of ideas, policy frameworks, and findings from research and practice into the Resilient Water Accelerator (RWA)’s programmes in our target countries and at a global level. They will report directly into the RWA’s Director of Programmes and Investment, shaping and delivering the future RWA as a highly effective and impactful learning organisation.
- Project management to ensure RWA’s Programmes and Investment-related activities are delivered on time and within budget. Using agreed project management software, track and report RWA’s programme-related deliverables.

Global Fishing Watch (GFW) is an international, nonprofit organization committed to advancing ocean governance through increased transparency. We create and publicly share knowledge about human activity at sea to enable fair and sustainable use of our ocean. Founded in 2015 through a collaboration between Oceana, SkyTruth, and Google, Global Fishing Watch became an independent nonprofit organization in June 2017. Using cutting-edge technology, we create and publicly share map visualizations, data and analysis tools to enable scientific research and drive a transformation in how we manage our ocean. Our major focus is on commercial fishing because it is the most widespread human activity at sea, the most impactful on ocean health, and the most crucial for global livelihoods and food security. By 2030, we aim to monitor and visualize the impact of ocean-going vessels, both industrial and small-scale, that are responsible for the vast majority of the global seafood catch. About the Role:
We are hiring a Fundraising Grants and Reporting Manager at an exciting time for the organization. In April 2023, Global Fishing Watch secured a five-year, US$60 million commitment through The Audacious Project to leverage our data and technology to revolutionize ocean management. This new role will play a foundational part in establishing the grant management process at Global Fishing Watch and shaping its future. You will play a key role in developing and implementing the grant management system and processes, ensuring our fundraising team can deliver first class stewardship and relationship management. Reporting to the Director of Philanthropy and Partnerships, the prime responsibilities of this position are to support fundraising and consequently program teams in ensuring compliant, timely and high-quality donor reporting and grant management and knowledge management. Qualified candidates will bring proven experience coordinating with team members to gather necessary information and translate it into reports that effectively engage and inspire funders. They will need to meticulously review reports to identify gaps and follow up for clarifications as needed. The role requires strong written and oral communications skills, the ability to build and maintain new relationships, and a talent for enhancing existing partnerships.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities
Grant management:
- Manage the tracking, preparation and submission of funder reports, including working with the project and finance teams to produce timely and accurate narrative and financial reports.
- Improve processes and support coordination of grant opening, review and closing meetings, working with teams in the UK and globally to ensure clear assignment and understanding of responsibilities in relation to compliance, management and deadlines.
- Work with finance, compliance and program teams to ensure that all grant-funded projects comply with the terms and conditions set by funders.
- Work with program and finance teams to ensure effective systems and processes are in place for grant management and compliance, such as for tracking grant timelines, deliverables, and outcomes.
- Establish and maintain close working relationships with colleagues and partners to gather necessary insights and information for donor reports, translating program activities and learning into clear funding reports that effectively communicate our impact to our funders and supporters.
- Contribute to Global Fishing Watch’s annual report as needed, and provide updates to the communications team on relevant website copy, specifically the donor information on the financials web page.
- Ensure all grant documentation is stored and updated in relevant systems.
- Conduct regular meetings with program and finance teams to review grant performance and expenditure.
- Identify and mitigate potential risks associated with grant compliance, such as underperformance, budget overspend/underspend, or missed deadlines.
- Work with finance and program teams to develop contingency plans for addressing challenges that may arise during the grant lifecycle.
- Share ideas, information and learning to contribute to grant management systems and processes, and to support broader learning with partners and donors.
- Support, advise and coach the Global Fishing Watch team to successfully contribute to grant management efforts.
Required Skills & Experience
- A minimum of four years of progressively responsible administrative, finance, operations, project management or related experience.
- Grant administration experience, including demonstrated expertise in managing complex, multi-year grants with multiple reporting and compliance requirements.
- Experience with financial management and budgeting, particularly in the context of grant-funded projects.
- Experience of effective and values-based partnership work between international and local organizations and communities.
- Excellent oral communication, writing and editing skills. Demonstrated experience/training in report writing and expressing complex concepts and issues in a clear, effective manner for a broad range of audiences
- High level interpersonal and communication skills, including experience of communicating effectively across cultures and with diverse audiences, both verbally and in writing.
- Proven organization skills and flexibility when it comes to balancing priorities and multi-tasking.
- Strong team and interpersonal skills and the ability to work independently.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving capacities – ability to identify issues with contractual implications, ensure consistent donor reporting and support teams in providing appropriate analyses of activities.
- Good judgment and strong decision-making ability.
- Attention to detail and exceptional accuracy.

Recruiting process: If selected for consideration, the hiring process for this position will include a call with our Talent Acquisition Manager, followed by a formal 60 minute interview with 2-3 staff, a brief take home assignment, and a final 60 minute review of your assignment/final interview with 2-3 team members.
Working Hours: Global Fishing Watch supports flexible working, so the pattern of hours may vary according to operational and personal needs. The position will be part of a global team spanning many different time zones and so the candidate must be able to accommodate regular early/late meetings to be able to work effectively. Weekend work may be required on occasion. The post holder may be required to undertake regional and international travel. No overtime is payable.
Compensation: A compensation range for this position is $70,000-$85,000 per year for US-based employees, EUR 50,000-60,000 for candidates based in Europe, and GBP 50,000-60,000 for candidates based in the UK. For applicants located outside of these options, the pay range will be adjusted to the country of hire. Compensation is commensurate with experience and will vary depending on the hired candidate’s country of residence, in accordance with local laws and regulations. GFW offers pension/retirement, health and other benefits commensurate with similar level GFW employees in the country of employment.
