Through our 6 week course we help them to feel calm, confident, to have positive thoughts about themselves, to have higher self esteem and trust in others. We work with over 2000 children and young people across the UK every year and have reached over 14,000 over the past 14 years.

The Role:

About the job:
Earlier this year, we built a brand-new events function, and we’re looking for the final member to join this small but perfectly formed team of professionals (team consists of a Senior Events and Sponsorship Coordinator, and two Events and Sponsorship Coordinators).
If you have some events and/or sponsorship experience and are looking to develop your career in a friendly yet fast-paced environment, then this is the role for you. It’s a great time to join the team – we’re about to open bookings for two brand new conferences taking place in March next year and have many more events in the pipeline.
As well as working on our own events, you’ll support our presence at a packed calendar of sector events. There’s a lot to do, and that’s what keeps the job interesting - one day you may be on a site visit for a new event we’re planning, and the next you’ll be booking travel and accommodation for our senior leadership team to allow them to represent the ETF at an external conference.

Your profile
To assist in coordinating and project managing a varied portfolio of events, including an annual member conference, internal staff events, roundtables, and a range of face-to-face and online events as well as overseeing the ETF’s presence at sector trade shows and conferences.
To work with the events manager to proactively seek impactful speaking and sponsorship opportunities to help build the profile and raise awareness of our work within the FE and Skills sector.
To track the events budget, including regular reporting and tracking on spend.
To produce corporate display materials and collateral for events, giving consideration to sustainability, and working closely with the marketing team to ensure brand guidelines are upheld.
To contribute to the quality review process for contract-specific events.
The successful candidate will have:
- Excellent organisational skills; able to demonstrate capability in multiple task management, prioritise workload and evidence of success in delivering outcomes to agreed timescales and tight deadlines.

The Head of Corporate Partnerships is a key leadership role within the Income and Engagement Directorate. Breaking Barriers’ relationship with corporate partners is the USP upon which our growth and success as an organisation has been built. The Head of Corporate Partnerships has accountability for generating income, impact and influence from the private sector, and for leading a high-performing team to achieve ambitious growth and scale for refugees around the UK.
As Breaking Barriers has grown from a start-up organisation to a now 60-strong team raising c. £4m and supporting more than 1,200 refugees annually, our corporate partnerships have expanded beyond our original London base to be nationwide partnerships with a wide range of businesses and employers. The Head of Corporate Partnerships is an essential role that will make this ambition a reality.
You will lead a team to deliver outstanding partnerships management of a range of strategic and multi-faceted relationships with a portfolio of c.50 businesses alongside leading strategy for business development. Leading by example you will own a number of our key relationships to drive growth, whilst bringing your experience to bear to coach your team and ensure structures and processes are in place to enable high performance.

Base: Central Edinburgh/hybrid
Hours: Full time and permanent. 35 hours a week over core working hours of 10am - 3pm, Monday to Friday, with a one-hour lunch break. The office is open 8am – 6pm daily and our hybrid working policy requires all full-time employees to work at least two days a week in the Edinburgh office.

The Senior Communications Manager is responsible for developing, leading and implementing key aspects of our communications and engagement strategy. Bridging the gap between senior leadership and delivery, you will be a confident and strategic thinker, but remain excited by the challenge of getting stuck in. The Senior Communications Manager is responsible for campaigns, PR, content and storytelling, brand and creative, and plays an integral role in internal communications. Strong copywriting is essential for this role. You will be able to write, edit, and tailor content for different audiences, and publish it across various channels, including the website, social media, emails, and marketing materials.
You will enjoy variety. Your day could involve operational planning, developing a new campaign, briefing freelancers and agencies, finding compelling stories, creating our Impact Report, speaking with journalists, working on internal communications, or drafting social media posts.
The successful candidate will have strong emotional intelligence, relationship building and negotiation skills. They will be collaborative and creative, drive projects forward, work effectively alongside the Senior Digital Marketing Manager, and bring people together across the organisation. They will provide supportive, effective management to the Communications and Campaigns Officer, and be an internal advocate for the impact our Communications and Engagement can have.

Overall purpose
This is a key role that will work closely with the Senior Communications Manager, Head of Public Engagement and Senior Digital Marketing Manager.
You will contribute to the implementation of our communications, engagement and fundraising strategies, ensuring that your work is anchored in our organisational and team strategic goals. You will also be closely involved in team planning, whether it’s inputting into our operational plan or sharing ideas for new campaigns.
There are opportunities to get hands-on developing and delivering communications and fundraising campaigns to educate and inspire individuals, businesses, and other audiences. The aim of these campaigns is to help remove barriers to employment for refugees and bring about systemic change via our partnerships. Please note, we do not currently run political campaigns.
You will be responsible for creating and delivering day-to-day communications across our owned channels (social media, email newsletters, and some website content). You will also help colleagues create content for earned and paid communications that they’re leading on (press and media, digital marketing, engagement with influencers)
A team player, you will build strong relationships across Breaking Barriers so that you can source and develop content that:
- increases our visibility and influence
- showcases our impact
- inspires members of the public to help refugees build new lives in the UK
- engages and stewards our key audiences, including corporate partners, employees who advocate for refugees, individual donors, volunteers, and people of a refugee background.
You will support the Senior Communications Manager to maintain our strong brand, ensuring that all our content complies with our brand guidelines and is of a high standard.
With a good eye for detail, you will play a key role in our data management, including overseeing data on the storytelling section of our CRM, monitoring communications enquiries, and setting up and running reports. You will become a Salesforce Superuser (full training and support will be provided for this).

About the role:
Advance has partnered with Catch 22 to deliver services to young victims of crime in London. In recognition of the distinct challenges facing young women and girls (YWG), Advance will deliver a dedicated service to young women and girls (aged 13 to 18) who have been a victim or witness of crime. This is an exciting time to join Advance as we embark on our journey to reach even more young women and girls in need of support using best practice youth, gender, trauma-informed and holistic approaches.
The YWG Victim Service will provide support to YWG across all London boroughs in our safe, YWG-only spaces and in the community. The YWG Victim Service offers specialist support designed to enable YWG to escape harm and to thrive in their lives and aspirations. The YWG Victim Service achieves this by supporting YWG to build confidence, self-esteem and resilience, manage their health and wellbeing and access and engage with other support services.
The Service Manager will lead and manage Advance’s YWG Victim Service, delivering effective management of a team of frontline Advocates, as well as collaborating with Catch 22 to ensure the Advance team and its service delivery are embedded in the wider CYP Victims Services delivered by Catch 22.
About You:
You will have experience of managing frontline staff, supporting them to follow service delivery processes and procedures to ensure effective and safe service delivery to achieve positive outcomes for young women and girls accessing the Victims and Witnesses service. You will have excellent time management skills to ensure service outcomes are monitored and reported on in a timely and effective manner. You will also have excellent communication skills that will allow you to build good working relationships with your team, the wider organisation and external delivery partners. You will be able to reflect and adapt to manage change and enhance working practices, as well as supporting your team through change. You will have an enthusiastic attitude and instil this within your day to day work and interactions with your colleagues and external stakeholders.

We are looking for an experienced young people's practitioner. You will be confident in your work with young people and join our dynamic, ambitious team.
This role sits within our Essex Young People's Drug and Alcohol Service (EYPDAS) . EYPDAS work with young people aged up to 25 years old who require support for substance or alcohol use. We neither condone nor condemn use but support young people on a voluntary basis to create a care plan that suits their needs and motivations. EYPDAS sits within the established All Age Recovery Co-ordination Service (AARCS), which we deliver in partnership with Open Road, supporting young people, adults and families affected by substance misuse.
This role requires you to deliver on a one-to-one and group work basis to young people up to the age of 25. You will line manage up to 3 practitioners to deliver this work across the quadrant offering supervision, referral allocation, performance management and deliver on the Service Managers directives.
In order to be successful with this role, you will need to be able to demonstrate that you have extensive experience of: -
Delivering direct interventions with vulnerable young people (8-25) on both a one to one and group work capacity. As well as working to support the family network.
Co-producing care and safety plans with young people that are young people led, focusing on both a relational & strength-based approach.
Extensive partnership working in a multi-agency environment to ensure that the needs and wishes of the young person are heard and acted upon.
You will lead a team and need to be able to work in a flexible way which includes flexing their day and work location as need indicates, including being based in the quadrant and working in the home environment to increase convenience and accessibility
You will need to demonstrate that you have:
-A relevant professional qualification working with vulnerable children and families is desired e.g., Diploma/degree in social work, counselling qualification, professional youth worker or related NVQ or degree. -Experience of working with vulnerable young people and families that are hard to reach and from diverse backgrounds on both a one-to-one basis and through group work interventions.
