We are seeking a driven and dynamic Marketing & Communications Administrator to join our expanding team to help support the operational delivery of Foundations work and to raise our profile, grow our business and share our successes.
Applicants must have relevant experience in marketing, communications, and general administration at trustee or senior level. Responsibilities
Raising the profile of the Foundation by implementing an imaginative and inspiring programme in Marketing and Communications under the direction of the Head of Business Development.
Work with Head of Grants and Programmes to plan and timetable promotion of new grants programmes and regular promotion of ongoing programmes. Working at times with external marketing and comms teams to agree key messaging.
Compile and share a range of inspiring donor, charity and community stories and case studies which bring to life the Foundation’s impact.
Support, maintain and update the Foundation’s website, ensuring that it is inspiring, engaging and up to date with content. Help set up and access additional platforms as required e.g. online donations, raffles, other Trusts who are contracted to the Foundation.
Develop the Foundation’s wider digital presence through social media and use of content marketing to raise awareness of the Foundation’s expertise, share good news stories and promote available funding e.g. through regular charity and business newsletters.
Under the guidance and leadership of the Head of BD and CEO provide specific public relations support, including preparing press releases and producing articles for local magazines and relevant publications.
Maintain a library of relevant and up to date marketing materials, photographs illustrating the Foundation’s work and partnership logos and guidance for use. Manage permissions and GDPR for all communications work and marketing collateral.
Attend UK Community Foundations (UKCF) Marcomms meetings.
Work with the CEO to prepare and manage quarterly Board meetings for Foundation and as required other partners (incl JCT) at an executive admin level.
Preparing for meetings: prep of papers, managing dates and availability; minute taking and general administration for Board level members under clear and strict requirements around confidentiality.
Regular updating of requirements of Board incl: EDI data and references; annual Conflict of Interest; DBS and other requirements.
Supporting Chair of Trustee in their role as required and in an administrative support.
Support general office administration such as maintenance of equipment inventories and training records and PAT testing schedules and others task to ensure smooth running of the main office.
Organize events to showcase the Foundation’s work, including functions for donors, potential donors, community and voluntary groups.
Support the Head of Business development to identified campaigns and additional programmes to grow the Foundations reach. Work with Head of BD to write creative briefs and to shape to recruit additional capacity as required.
Work as an effective Ambassador for the Foundation always, including at events and external networking.
Represent the Foundation on agreed marketing and Comms networks incl UKCF and others to be agreed.
Work closely with other members of the team to ensure that the Foundation achieves excellence in grant-making and all its operational aspects.
Represent the Foundation externally as required.
Use computer equipment and software for administrative and communication duties including Canva, new website CMS, Microsoft Office, online communications, and the Salesforce Database.
Carry out other associated duties, which may arise, develop, or be assigned, in line with the scale and general nature of the post.

How would you contribute to Cycle Sisters’ mission?
Cycle Sisters has grown hugely over the past few years, with an expanded range of programmes and activity. We are keen to continue this journey of growth and have just finalised a new strategy for 2024-2027 which prioritises reaching more women and girls, and ensuring our financial sustainability.
The Fundraising Lead will play a critical role in supporting our ‘sustainability' strategic priority to ensure Cycle Sisters can access the resources it needs to keep making a difference. This post-holder will lead on growing Cycle Sisters’ unrestricted income, with a focus on community fundraising and corporate partnerships.
The post-holder will need to be an excellent networker, confident in representing the organisation externally and able to motivate a range of stakeholders to financially support Cycle Sisters’ work.
What would you be doing?
Below is a list of responsibilities which provide a broad outline of the role. This is not an exhaustive list as Cycle Sisters is a small team which requires flexibility.
This is a new part-time role and we will work with the successful candidate to develop a workplan which is realistic within the hours available. There will also be support from other team members on some of the areas of work.

The role:

Your role
We are seeking a Senior Fundraising Leader to secure funding from diverse sources to support our program and initiatives. The ideal candidate has senior-level fundraising experience at an NGO, organisation, or charity, a strong and established network of executive relationships in major foundations, and a proven track record of identifying and closing deals in the range of 1-5 million USD. The fundraising leader will develop relationships with potential donors, identify fundraising opportunities, and manage the grant application process.
We seek someone who aligns with the DfG mission, has a passion for fundraising and can strategise and deliver new initiatives. The fundraiser will collaborate with program staff, and senior management to develop leads, compelling proposals and reports. Key Responsibilities
· Relationship Management: Build and nurture relationships with current and prospective donors, program officers, and key stakeholders, serving as the main point of contact for grant inquiries, reporting, and communications.

Your accountabilities as our Advocacy & Policy Manager will include the following:
Building external relations
- Lead on creating and executing an Advocacy strategy and relationship-building plan to ensure AFH is well connected and respected amongst key stakeholders including politicians, policy makers, governing bodies, other NGOs, etc. Regularly seek new opportunities to enhance external relations.
- Represent AFH in advocacy meetings, humanitarian coordination and other forums, conferences, events, and working groups, leading as many as possible.
- Build and maintain AFH’s relationships with influential people and authorities, including politicians and Governing bodies. Facilitate supporting regular and meaningful engagement with them.
- Build and maintain relationships with regional advocacy groups in and around Palestine, Syria, Yemen and other contexts.
- Position AFH as influential in public debates on Palestine, Syria, Yemen and other countries where AFH works, making AFH a resource for journalists and other key stakeholders covering related issues.
- Keep abreast of regional advocacy groups in and around Palestine, Syria, Yemen and other contexts.
Supporting internal stakeholders
- Guide and advise AFH’s head and field offices on advocacy issues and trends.
- Support our field offices with Advocacy capacity building and enhancing business development, partnerships, and institutional funding.
- Support the head office with enhancing business development, partnerships, and institutional funding, through targeted external stakeholder engagement and improving the technical branding of Action For Humanity in the eyes of potential partner institutions.
- Identify advocacy opportunities by working with the wider Communications and Marketing departments in the writing, editing, commissioning and disseminating of press-releases, op-eds, statements etc., to secure coverage of the organisation’s work across the media spectrum.

- Build up AFH’s advocacy work in relation to domestic programmes.

The Direct Marketing Manager, Retention, is a newly developed role at the DEC, responsible for shaping and delivering new and existing supporter journeys for DEC individual, community and legacy donors, and leading a programme of improvement across all major contact points between the DEC and the public.

Duchenne UK is an ambitious, dynamic and impactful charity. Following their sons’ diagnosis of Duchenne muscular dystrophy (DMD), Emily Reuben and Alex Johnson founded Duchenne UK in 2012.
DMD is a devastating progressive condition diagnosed in early childhood which causes all the muscles in the body to gradually weaken. There are currently only very limited treatment options for DMD, so Emily and Alex set up Duchenne UK to change this.
Since 2012, we have raised more than £27 million to end the devastating impact of DMD. We fund ground-breaking scientific research to find effective treatments. We’ve developed the infrastructure of DMD clinical trial delivery in the UK. We engage industry and regulators to accelerate access to treatments. - Be an inspiring ambassador for the vision of Duchenne UK and ensure it is reflected in the strategies, outputs and behaviour of the income team.

Budgeting, reporting and compliance
- Manage the income budget, providing regular reports as required to the Senior Leadership Team, Finance Committee and the Board of Trustees.
- Set, deliver and monitor the income generation delivery plan, ensuring all objectives and KPIs are met and are managed as appropriate.
- Work proactively to identify and monitor risk, working alongside the Compliance and Risk Committee to mitigate risks as part of the wider risk management process.
- Ensure income generation complies with legal and regulatory standards.
- Keep up to date with Charity Commission regulations and guidelines.

Terms and conditions
The appointment is subject to satisfactory references and an initial six-month period of probation, during which performance will be regularly reviewed.
Relevant training will be provided during induction as well as opportunities to develop your career through experience of different aspects of the Foundation’s work and working with colleagues on new initiatives.
The organisation’s hybrid working policy is at the discretion of the line manager during the first three months of employment, to support the induction process.
