The International Nepal Fellowship (INF) is Nepal’s longest serving international NGO with over seven decades of experience working with Nepal’s poorest and most disadvantaged people and communities.
Nepal is one of the poorest and least developed countries in the world. After a decade of peace following the 1996 to 2006 civil war, the country was hit by several generation-defining events. In 2015, a catastrophic earthquake killed nearly 9,000 people and then the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic took its toll on the nation, amplifying challenges such as social exclusion, limited access to basic services, and weakening economic growth.
Its people have worked hard and achieved much to reduce poverty in Nepal. Twenty years ago, nearly every other family lived in extreme poverty, earning less than $1.25 a day. Although this number has halved, today there are still one in four families living in extreme poverty. This is why Nepal and its people need further help in the alleviation of poverty and suffering.
Today, INF in the UK is a forward-thinking and impactful organisation, raising funds and supporting programmes and projects initiated and delivered by our Nepali partners, addressing key needs in healthcare, disability, community resilience, education and emergency relief.
We are motivated by our Christian faith, showing active compassion for some of the world’s poorest people, and encouraging individuals and communities to access and enjoy their rights as a holistic expression of our values.
We believe all people are equal, and so inclusion and dignity are very important to us, irrespective of gender, sexual orientation, religious belief, disability, economic status, caste or any other feature.
INF UK is continuing on a journey of transformation. Five years ago we moved from being a missionary sending agency to a resourcing organisation, raising funds and awareness for our partners locally. We are now embarking on the transition to becoming a more locally-led organisation, supporting and empowering our local partners to assume a greater role in the way INF UK develops and evolves.
INF UK now seeks a CEO to lead a small and talented team and drive this process of transformational change. You will bring experience of senior leadership, international development, strategic planning, resource mobilisation, partnership building and financial oversight. This will be underpinned by a mature Christian faith and a passion to see Nepali people living dignified, hope-filled lives, free from poverty and suffering.
If this sounds like you we would love to hear from you. Closing date is 5pm GMT on Thursday 12th December 2024.
Please note that this role has an Occupational Requirement to be a committed Christian as permitted under Schedule 9, Part 1, of the Equality Act 2010.

Carers UK is looking for an Account Executive to support the Income Generation and Communication team in delivering activities to maintain and grow significant income from Carers UK’s products and services, namely the Employers for Carers forum.
This is a pivotal time for working carers as the Carer’s Leave Act becomes law, making it a statutory requirement for all employers to support unpaid carers by providing five days unpaid carers leave. We believe we have the platform to bring about change, as well as provide carers with the support they need.
About us
Carers UK’s vision is to create a society that recognises, values and supports carers. As the leading national charity for unpaid carers, we exist to make life better for carers, however caring affects them. Our support, advice, information and campaigning work are now needed more than ever, as unpaid carers are providing more and more care, adversely impacting on their own health and wellbeing.
Despite being a relatively small charity, we regularly punch above our weight. We have influenced almost every piece of legislation concerning carers over the past 60 years: from the first ever 1967 legal right for carers to the 2024 Carer’s Leave Act, whereby employers must provide five days unpaid leave to employees. Our Employers for Carers forum was hugely influential in the passing of the Act.
We now have an exciting opportunity for an Account Executive to join our team and build on this recent success. This is a pivotal time for working carers as the Carer’s Leave Act has become law, after years of campaigning by Carers UK. This means it is now a statutory requirement for all employers to support unpaid carers by giving five days unpaid carers leave. However, we realise that there are still many barriers facing working carers, so we are already campaigning for a further change in the law for this to become a week of paid leave.
About the role
Our best practice employer forum, Employers for Carers (EfC), works as a department of Carers UK and helps businesses create carer-friendly workplaces. With the change in employment law, now is an exciting time for our forum to grow in size and influence, ultimately helping millions more carers.
We are seeking a new business Account Executive to help grow the membership of Employers for Carers at this exciting time. While this role sits within the Income Generation and Communication directorate, it is not a fundraising role but focuses on selling our Employers for Carers product as earned income. As such, the successful candidate will meet with leading organisations to improve their workplace practices, engaging with HR and D&I teams.

Diversity and inclusion
Carers UK is committed to becoming a diverse and truly inclusive organisation. We strive to create a workplace where our colleagues and volunteers can truly be themselves and feel like they belong and constantly seek to ensure all voices are heard.
To embrace this culture of diversity, our employee and volunteer recruitment should reflect our stakeholders and the society that we serve and support, regardless of age, race, gender, sexual orientation, physical abilities, disabilities or religious practices. We value individual diversity and are actively building diverse teams here at Carers UK and value our colleagues from a wide range of backgrounds.
As a membership charity for carers, we particularly seek employees and volunteers with a real understanding of the issues faced by carers. Reasonable adjustments can be made to the process and role dependent on the needs of the applicant.
At Carers UK we want our application process to be as accessible as possible. If you need any adjustments to apply please email the recruitment team to discuss.
The closing date for applications is 5pm, Friday 29 November 2024
Carers UK anonymises all applications prior to shortlisting.
Carers UK reserves the right to appoint at any stage, should an outstanding candidate emerge.
Carers UK are actively interviewing as we receive applications.

We welcome all mission-aligned candidates to apply, no matter where you are in your journey to end the abuse of animals raised for food.
YOUR OPPORTUNITY
The Humane League is seeking a tenacious, determined, and well-organized individual with deep knowledge of laying hen welfare and the drive to create progressive change for millions of animals. The Temporary Animal Welfare Specialist (known internally as the Temporary Global Technical Lead or Temporary Global Technical Manager) is part of a small, high-impact global team specializing in corporate outreach and policy. The primary focus of this position is to deliver advice on farm animal welfare science to inform animal welfare campaigns and corporate engagement efforts. This requires extensive research and close collaboration with other organizations in the Open Wing Alliance (a global coalition of animal protection groups) to prepare for meetings with food companies and strategize on advocacy tactics from a scientific perspective.
We want you because you are as comfortable reading and writing research papers as you are in the boardroom and on the farm. You are excited to bring your knowledge to advocates around the world and work with them to put theory into practice.
The ideal candidate is passionate about The Humane League’s mission of ending the abuse of animals raised for food and excited about working both independently and as a member of a team in a dynamic environment. This position reports directly to the Senior Director of Global Animal Welfare.
This is a part-time (32 hours per week), temporary, remote position. The temporary hire will provide coverage while a permanent staff member is on maternity leave, and overlap will be provided for training and onboarding. Employment is expected to be twelve (12) months in duration, beginning on approximately February 3, 2025. The duration of employment may be extended or shortened at The Humane League’s discretion. This position requires both domestic and international travel, equivalent to 3 or more week-long trips per year.
The new team member’s title will be either Temporary Global Technical Lead or Temporary Global Technical Manager, depending on their experience and qualifications. Please see below for more information about the responsibilities and qualifications which distinguish the Temporary Global Technical Lead role from the Temporary Global Technical Manager role.
We are only able to consider applicants who reside and possess work authorization in the United Kingdom.
We will be recording a webinar hosted by Mia Fernyhough, Sr. Director of Global Animal Welfare, and Siân Phillips, Sr. Global Technical Manager, Layers. Aquarius was a subsidiary of Richmond Fellowship, with both organisations being part of Recovery Focus, a national group of charities highly experienced in providing specialist support services to individuals and families living with the effects of mental ill health, drug and alcohol use, gambling and domestic violence. On 1st June 2024 Richmond Fellowship merged with Humankind to form a single organisation that provides the joined-up mental health, housing and drug and alcohol support we’ve all known has been needed for decades. At the same time, Aquarius became a subsidiary of Humankind, with no impact to terms and conditions of employment. In October 2024, Humankind was renamed Waythrough to reflect the new organisation, of which Aquarius will remain a subsidiary.
The University of Essex is excited to have formed a Knowledge Transfer Partnership (KTP) with the Minstead Trust. The Minstead Trust is a charity based in Hampshire, which works in collaboration with people with learning disabilities and their family carers, to enable them to achieve greater independence and live happier and healthier lives. One of their main areas of work is accommodation support. As they transition into adult accommodation support services, adults with a learning disability, their family carers, and Minstead Trust accommodation support staff form a tripartite relationship through which support is planned and delivered within the Minstead Trust. However, to date practices in support provision have differed, leading to miscommunications, relationship difficulties, and some areas of inconsistency and discontinuity in provided support and living circumstances. There are also often difficulties experienced during the transition from child to adult learning disability services. These are sector wide issues, which ultimately impact service users’ participation in the various activities and occupations that provide meaning, purpose, and routine within their everyday lives.
The KTP will last for 24 months and utilise a participatory action research (PAR) approach to engage relevant stakeholders who comprise and surround the tripartite relationship described above. Together they will co-produce, implement, and evaluate distinct new ways of working. These new ways of working will revolutionise engagement between adults with learning disabilities, their family carers, and Minstead Trust staff, and lead to improved experiences for all stakeholders.
As a KTP, the KTP Associate role constitutes more than just the completion of a research project, as the focus of the role is to facilitate knowledge transfer between the University and the Minstead Trust. A key objective is that the KTP also embeds the capability of co-production within the Minstead Trust through staff engagement and support. Co-production involves partnership working towards a mutually defined aim, where everyone connected with an issue plays an active part, and existing skills, experience and knowledge are valued and utilised (Pettican et al, 2022).
