Purpose of the job
At UK Youth, we believe every young person should have access to the opportunities they need to thrive and be empowered to contribute at every stage of their lives. This role provides an exciting opportunity to join UK Youth and play a key role in driving forward our new strategy to 2025 ‘Unlocking Youth Work’. As a Trusts & Grants Officer, you will be joining a supportive and highly ambitious Partnerships and Trusts Team sitting within the wider External Relations Department. You will be leading on the relationship management of a portfolio of low to mid value Trusts & Foundations partnerships, building on your knowledge and expertise across relationship management and proactively spotting opportunities to build new relationships with other Trusts & Foundations.
You will split your time between relationship management of existing partnerships and new opportunities, supporting this team to conduct thorough prospect research into our priority sectors, make approaches to prospective partners and supporting with the development of bids.
Key responsibilities

Leading on the relationship management and stewardship of a portfolio of UK Youth’s low to mid value Trusts & Foundations, maximising income and other mutually beneficial opportunities across in-kind.

Championing existing partnerships internally to ensure the partnership’s expectations are delivered and exceeded. This includes working to secure engagement from Senior Leadership and relevant colleagues across Communications and Engagement.

Coordinate with internal groups and senior colleagues across the Impact and Network Delivery teams to write applications and reports.

Conduct and support colleagues on the Trusts & Foundations team with prospect research, helping to build a strong pipeline of new, well-researched opportunities that have strong alignment with UK Youth’s funding priorities.

Support the Trusts & Foundations team in making approaches to a list of high value Trust & Foundation prospects, delivering high quality bids to secure new partnerships.

Support the Partnerships & Trusts Team with ad hoc administrative duties including pipeline reporting, database (CRM) management, and inbox management.

A Team Leader will be fully involved in all aspects of the day to day management of their designated service, including line managing the relevant front line staff. You will lead and develop competence of direct reports as well as carry caseloads of customers requiring support. About the role
Our client specialises in providing high quality care and education to children and young people with epilepsy and other complex medical conditions. They are offering an exciting opportunity for a Head of Residential Childcare Services to lead, develop and oversee seven children’s homes, ensuring the highest standard of bespoke care and support is provided for each young person. They are underway with registering their seven homes individually with Ofsted and the post holder will play a pivotal role in leading on the registrations and ensuring its success. This role will not hold registration for the services.
About you
This opportunity will allow you to use your existing knowledge and expertise in the management of Children’s Homes, to implement new ideas, support and develop their Registered Managers, whilst ensuring best practice and compliance with Ofsted regulations.
You’ll be working in collaboration with multi-disciplinary teams across the organisation, so well developed interpersonal skills are essential. You will be someone that thinks outside the box; taking service expansion and admissions into consideration, alongside managing the day-today operations of the service. You will be creative and strategic in your approach allowing you to effectively bring the Children’s Services strategic plan to realisation.

About us at the NCT
A lot of people know NCT for our antenatal classes, and we want to continue to support as many parents and families as we can to access evidence-based information. But we are also much more than this. We are a charity that campaigns on the issues that matter to parents. We run breastfeeding and infant feeding support, provided by specialist counsellors. We run thousands of free community activities and events across the UK, led by our fantastic volunteers and peers. And we support women and families facing specific challenges, such as social isolation, feeding difficulties or poor mental health.
Our Hackney Parent Support project is commissioned by Hackney Council, to offer infant feeding support across the region in both community and hospital settings and parenting courses for families throughout the Hackney region. The support is delivered by staff and volunteer peer supporters.
We are seeking a capable Peer Supporter who will support parents at Homerton Hospital and at various community settings in Hackney. This role will mainly be based between Homerton hospital and out in the community (expenses will be reimbursed).
About the Role
You will be responsible for offering infant feeding support for parents within Homerton Hospital and the community. Some of the key responsibilities of the role include:
· Providing breastfeeding support to families on the wards at Homerton hospital and community settings within Hackney.
· Support in delivering inductions for volunteer peer supporters.
· To report any concerns or additional support needs of women to the NCT management team and/or Infant Feeding Lead for referral onto partner agencies as appropriate.
· To attend regular supervision/support sessions.
· Having a good working knowledge and understanding of the local demographics in the Hackney area and ensuring all support is accessible and inclusive.
· Ensure that data collection and feedback is collected in a timely manner in an inclusive way.
You must have good communication skills and be able to build relationships and create a rapport with a wide range of people easily. This is a large project and covers multiple locations so you must be able to confidently prioritise your own work, be highly organised and able to work independently.
Being able to make decisions and respond appropriately to our staff, peer supporters and parents and other external stakeholders is essential, alongside good IT skills– including Outlook, Word and Excel – and you must have good attention to detail.
It is essential for this post that you undertake the training to become an NCT Breastfeeding Peer Supporter. This requires experience of giving breast milk. The training can be undertaken within your working hours.
The role is 21 hours per week which will be predominantly Monday to Friday within the working day, however, will include occasional evening and weekends. This role is mainly based at Homerton Hospital and at community settings across Hackney.

As Policy Manager for health and wellbeing, you will be working as part of the policy and public affairs England team, managing specified areas of policy and influencing work and helping to deliver our operational plan. Your role will be key to ensuring our charity delivers the policy and practice changes needed to transform end of life experience.
You will be responsible for:
- Managing specified areas of Marie Curie's policy and influencing work, on issues related to the mental and physical health and wellbeing of people at the end of life.
- Analysing the policy landscape and developing evidence-based policy recommendations which are informed and where possible co-produced by people with lived experience.
- Writing reports and other materials including briefings, consultation responses, blogs and articles, to translate Marie Curie funded and other academic research into accessible formats for a range of audiences.
- Developing extensive networks with policy makers, researchers, clinicians, practitioners, charities and service providers on policy and research issues, ensuring that the organisation is well represented at meetings, events and conferences.
- Participating in or chairing coalitions and presenting at speaking engagements as required.
Key Criteria:
- Experience of producing high quality, evidence-based reports and briefings to deliver change in policy and practice.
- Knowledge of one or more of the following: health and social care; palliative and end of life care; mental health.
- Ability to analyse complex and varied written material such as research reports and legislation.
- Excellent ability to communicate evidence-based policy to a wide range of different audiences, both orally and in writing.

We run thousands of free community activities and events across the UK, led by our fantastic volunteers and peers. Our Hackney Parent Support project is commissioned by Hackney Council, to offer infant feeding support across the region in both community and hospital settings and parenting courses for families throughout the Hackney region. The support is delivered by staff and volunteer peer supporters.

We have an exciting opportunity for you to join us as an Internal Communications Senior Manager (Trading). We need you to be responsible for developing and delivering a cohesive internal communications strategy that engages Trading's diverse workforce, including staff across the retail chain, online marketplaces, and new commercial ventures, in alignment with CRUK's organisational goals and the Trading growth strategy.
Further to this, you'll ensure that all internal communications are aligned with the department's objectives, enhance staff engagement, and support the successful execution of key initiatives. Working closely with Trading's senior leadership team to influence internal communications priorities, you'll manage internal messaging, and lead efforts to continuously improve the effectiveness of Trading's internal communications.
What will I be doing?
Leading the development and execution of a strategic internal communications plan that effectively engages Trading's 2,000 staff and 15,000 volunteers
Acting as a key strategic partner to the central internal communications team, ensuring seamless integration and delivery of charity-wide communications appropriately to Trading staff
Overseeing the strategic planning, coordination, and approval of all internal communications to Trading, including high-impact weekly newsletters and other critical communications channels
Collaborating with national and regional PR teams to ensure internal and external communications are aligned and integrated
Providing active leadership within the Trading Internal Communications team, ensuring the team delivers innovative and best-in-class internal communications
Overseeing the Trading communication platform, ensuring timely, relevant and impactful updates to Trading staff
Leading the measurement and evaluation of trading internal communications, setting benchmarks, KPIs and using data-driven insights (including staff surveys) to continually refine communications strategies, drive engagement and improve impact
Partnering with the Trading leadership team to design and implement trading staff and volunteer recognition programmes
Acting as the internal communications senior point of contact for business continuity, issue management or reputational risk issues in trading.
What skills are you looking for?
Extensive experience in leading and delivering high-impact, multi-channel internal communications strategies that align with business objectives. Ideally gained in a large, complex organisation within the commercial or charity retail sectors.
Proven ability to design communications strategies that drive engagement and support organisational goals
Demonstrable experience in building relationships, influencing, and managing relationships with a diverse range of senior stakeholders
Strong ability to influence and advise senior leadership on internal communications strategies and decisions
Proven ability to instil confidence in decision-making while maintaining positive, productive working relationships. Capable of leading with authority, while fostering a collaborative and inclusive environment.
A forward-thinking strategic approach, adept at using data, insights, and feedback to inform and refine internal communications strategies
Outstanding written and verbal communications skills, with the ability to distil complex and sensitive information into clear, compelling messaging for a range of audiences
Proven ability to motivate and inspire others, creating a positive, collaborative team culture
Extensive experience in planning, prioritising and managing high-level internal communications projects and strategies with the ability to make informed decisions under pressure
Proven experience in leading and managing teams, with a focus on setting strategic direction and defining performance expectations
High proficiency in using a content management system for intranet and digital communications - including Microsoft Sharepoint.

To take responsibility for own caseload of children, young people, and families some with complex and multiple needs with support from senior Emotional Wellbeing and Mental Health (EWMH) staff.
To help involve children, young people, and their parents in the co-production of programmes, activities and services.
To work collaboratively with partner organisations in the Surrey Wellbeing Partnership, Surrey and Borders NHS Partnership, Surrey Children’s Services, local CAMHS/CYPS teams, schools, and other community-based services to provide the most effective service for children, young people and families. To keep accurate records of individual engagement, evidence of change and celebrate progress with children and young people.
To provide, record and report the appropriate data to ensure support programmes can be accurately monitored and evaluated.
To apply safeguarding and child protection procedures.
To help provide written case studies as evidence of the effectiveness of individual interventions.
To work as part of a team and attend team meetings, training events and participate fully in one to one, peer and group supervision.
The jobholder may be required to carry out other duties as directed by the EWMH Services Manager, the responsibility level of which should not exceed those outlined above.
Occasional evening work required (with a corresponding later start time or possibility to claim time off in lieu).
Any other duties are required to be performed within the grade and renumeration of the role.
