We work with thousands of people across England, Scotland, and Wales each year so they can leave homelessness behind for good. The Director of Crisis Skylight London will be responsible for leading and developing strategic partnerships across several London Boroughs. This is an exciting opportunity to develop and lead the service into our new 10-year strategy, influencing key local and national political, community and business leaders, partners, and providers to drive forward our strategic priorities all with the aim of ending homelessness. You will play a key role as a decision marker on the Client Services Senior Leadership Team, along with your counterparts in other London Skylights, and from across the different regions of the UK.
About you
We are looking for an experienced, innovative, values driven senior leader from the homelessness, health, safeguarding or associated sectors. You will have experience of building relationships with senior leaders to develop strategic partnerships with the aim of achieving strategic objectives and influencing social change. You will have the motivation, commitment, and vision, able to influence a range of audiences and able to articulate a compelling case for change to key decision makers across London. You will be a leader in your field, with experience of operational delivery, ensuring high quality and safe services to vulnerable adults, with the ability to provide clear leadership to your team. The role:
- Lead, manage and motivate a team of four with two direct reports.

Purpose of Role
- To understand Ramblers’ audience behaviours by analysing customer data
- To design and implement data solutions to drive revenue growth, supporter engagement, membership acquisition, retention and lifetime value from new and existing audiences
- To deliver secure, easily interpreted, and accessible information to staff members and volunteers about the Ramblers members, supporters, groups, walks and accounts.
- Democratise data by ensuring it is relevant, accurate and accessible.
- To create and improve existing processes within the Ramblers through the use of automations and technology to improve staff productivity and produce specialised outcomes.
- To support leadership in monitoring and reporting on the effectiveness of campaigns and initiatives.
Key responsibilities
- Drive the organisation to use data in its operations, using first party and third-party data sources to facilitate more informed and reliable decision making.
- Working in collaboration with teams across the organisation (particularly Income and Marketing) to develop and implement data driven approaches to income generation with a particular focus on quantitative modelling and testing.
- Working with internal Digital and IT teams, ensure information flows between systems (Salesforce, the Data Warehouse, Marketing Cloud etc) in an accurate and timely manner, to ensure our supporters receive the best possible service and we have a full view of their activities when planning our own.
- Ensure our data insights platform provides volunteers with understandable and easy to use information for all aspects of administering their Area(s)/Group(s).
- Lead on developing and improving new processes and automations to save organisational time and resources through digital technology to drive quicker and more optimised outcomes.
- Maintain accurate supporter information in an accessible and secure way through IT systems such as the CRM and Data Warehouse in accordance with data and charity legislation.
- Develop and present modelling an analysis of supporters through more targeted and personalised communication utilising modern statistical analysis techniques.
- Create and maintain processes allowing for self-service of simple or regularly scheduled selections by staff members.
- Develop a robust and efficient audience segmenting and selection process for more complicated selections in a timely manner, considering appropriate targeting, efficient messaging, and other comms activity.
- Work closely with marketing, operations, and other teams to provide data-driven insights and recommendations that inform campaigns, initiatives, and overall strategy.
- Track and report on the effectiveness of initiatives and campaigns, providing actionable insights and recommendations for improvement based on data analysis.
- To undertake such other duties as may be reasonably required of the post holder by the Ramblers.

The Person

We are seeking an operational and people focussed Chief Operating Officer (COO) to join our Executive Team. Operational Leadership and Governance

Financial Management

- Support the Finance Manager and Executive team in setting FNF’s annual budget, with robust analysis and justification of intended expenditure, financial forecasts, cashflow etc. securing active engagement and ownership from all internal budget holders
- Oversee the financial reports required to review progress against plans and forecasts throughout the year and ensuring these are disseminated and understood across the organisation
- Accountable for regular financial updates to Trustees including the Finance Investment Committee (FIC) and Board meetings along with the preparation of the financial aspects of the annual report and accounts
- Oversee the management and development of VAT reporting for FNF and trading subsidiary
- Oversee the financial aspect of FNF Global delivery to ensure compliance with HMRC
Systems and controls
- Lead in the development, implementation and monitoring of effective procurement systems and procedures, ensuring that FNF achieves best value and drives efficiencies through our external contracts
- Lead on the annual audit in accordance with current practice and the Charity Commissions Standard of Recommended Practice (SORP), liaising and managing the relationship with the auditors
- Oversee the operation of the payroll process and related HMRC contract ensuring that payments are made in an accurate and timely way
- Work with the Finance Committee to manage the investments for FNF, overseeing regular reviews of the investment policy and portfolio, liaising with external partners as necessary
Fundraising, Events, Marketing and Communications
- Provide leadership around income generation, making sure that this is located within the strategic framework and day to day thinking of the Foundation

About the role
We’re looking for a Human Resources Advisor with strong experience in employee relations and policy development to join our People Team. In this role, you’ll work closely with the HR Business Partners and act as the escalation point from our People Operations Team, offering comprehensive, pragmatic people advisory services across the organisation. Venn Group is partnered with an excellent UK-based Charity to recruit for an Internal Communications Executive. This role is a 6 months fixed term contract, providing essential support the Communications team in implementing lively and engaging internal communications strategies.
Key duties:
- Oversee and implement internal communication strategies for employees, volunteers, members, trustees, and other key stakeholders
- Manage news flow and scheduling, collaborating with the People Team and serving as the main contact for internal communications
- Maintain and provide guidance on factsheets and toolkits to support staff in delivering internal news
- Create, edit, and distribute content across internal communication channels, including the intranet and email newsletters, ensuring consistency across all platforms and departments
- Facilitate two-way communication between staff and the Senior Leadership Team, and advise the SLT on organisational developments
- Coordinate with consultants and departments to manage internal communication responses to crises that may affect the charity's reputation
- Oversee the production of internal communication materials by managing external suppliers
- Track, analyse, and report on the performance of internal communications efforts
- Adhere to organisational policies on Health and Safety, Safeguarding, and Risk Management, participate in training, and undertake additional tasks as requested by the line manager
Ideal candidate profile:
- Experience in a Communications role within the Charity or Not-For-Profit sector
- Proficient in Office 365 with strong communication planning, monitoring, and reporting skills
- Skilled in constructing and analysing surveys, with excellent communication abilities across various mediums
- Proven experience in coordinating internal communications, with strong people skills and the ability to integrate quickly with new teams
- Upholds confidentiality, commitment, and diplomacy, inspiring positive attitudes toward change
